The new Dacia Spring, 2nd generation, looks much better than the first one. It’s a huge step forward for the Romanian carmaker Dacia.
Built in China and launched in 2021, Dacia Spring initially had only one major selling point: it was cheap. The cheapest new electric car available on the European market.
After just 5 years, things have completely changed. The new Dacia Spring looks much better. It is now manufactured in Europe, at the Renault Group’s factory in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. And it looks like a European car, not a low-cost Chinese one. Just take a look at the photos below and see for yourself.

Five years ago, Dacia Spring Spring had an engine producing 45 CP and had a 26.8 kWh battery. The new generation delivers 80 CP, uses a 27.5 kWh LFP battery, and promises a WLTP range of up to 250 km.
To sum up, the new Dacia Spring, 2nd generation, is superior to the first one in almost every respect, from powertrain to design, and from passenger space to trunk capacity. In just one respect, the new Dacia Spring falls short of the first generation: the price. It is expected to be no more than the current price of the entry-level version (Expression) of the first generation: around 18,000 euros.
