The Polish NGO European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) organizes an international contest for journalist, named ”World War II, 80 years after. What Remains From the Second World War Today?”
”This contest invites journalists, editors, and freelancers to reflect on the lasting impact of the Second World War through work published between 1 January and 31 December 2025.

Participants may explore topics such as:
- Geopolitical consequences of the war
- Recurrence of historical processes
- Intergenerational trauma
- Shaping of national identities
- Post-war architecture
- Historical education
We welcome entries in the following categories:
- Press/Online article (excluding blogs and social media)
- Audio – radio programme, podcast, or recording
- Audiovisual – video report, documentary film, or TV programme
The best work in each category will receive a €2,500 award. Full contest rules and submission details are available here”, the organizers said.
About the competition
Competition participants may submit their work in one of the following categories:
a) written work (press or online article, excluding blogs and social media). The work should be translated into English and submitted in PDF format, together with a link to the published material or a screenshot of the printed publication.
b) audio material (radio broadcast, podcast, recording). The work should be submitted in the form of a link to the published material or in MP3 format, together with proof of publication. A transcript in English should be attached to the submission.
c) audiovisual material (video report, documentary film, television programme). The work should be submitted in the form of a link to the published material or in MP4 format, together with proof of publication of the material. A transcript in English should be attached to the application.
- The competition will be decided by 15 February 2026 and the results will be communicated to participants by email.

Few words about ENRS
ENRS is an international initiative dedicated to researching, documenting, and promoting public knowledge of 20th-century European history — with special focus on dictatorships, wars, and resistance to political violence. The Network’s members include Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, with advisory representatives from Albania, Austria, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
For 20 years of its activities, the ENRS has undertaken and continues to undertake a series of initiatives and actions serving as a space for polyphony – a place where diverse narrations are able to coexist, mutually enriching one another.
