The famous Transfagarasan road (DN 7C) will most likely be opened in about two weeks, regional road company from Brasov informed.
It would be a novelty, because never in its entire history has the Transfăgărășan opened so soon.
According to the quoted source, road workers are already working on clearing the road. Both on the south side, in Argeș county, and on the north side, in Sibiu county. And the work is going much faster than in previous years, due to the global warming.
”We are now are working hard to clear the snow and install the road signs. If we continue to have suitable weather conditions, we will be able to reopen the road almost a month, a month and a half earlier than the usual deadline of July 1″, regional road company (DRDP) from Brasov says.
Actualy, for the last two years, 2023 and 2024, the Transfagarasan road was opened during the month of June. On June 7 and June 24, respectively.
Last year there was a chance to open the road in May, but the weather conditions were bad, so the opening has been postponed to June.
